Tomorrow morning, we will have a signed affidavit from Engineering that our 2010MY Equinox 4-cyl FWD has achieved an EPA estimated 22mpg city/32mpg highway! This beats our previous estimated values of 21/30, and then goes on to smack-down the Toyota RAV4 @ 22/28 and Honda CRV @ 20/27. Our 32mpg highway even beats the Ford Escape FWD hybrid which offers 31mpg highway! Coupling our 32mpg highway with our 18.8 gallon fuel tank, Equinox offers an out-of-the-ballpark maximum driving range of just over 600 miles!
These outstanding results have only been made possible by the outstanding leadership provided by our VLD and Engineering over the past few years. Based on rising fuel prices, they identified and obtained approval to implement almost every technology available within General Motors to provide America's Best Compact Crossover with class leading fuel economy and range, on top of class leading rear seat legroom.
The EPA values for the other Equinox models (4-cyl AWD, V6 FWD & AWD) are expected to become available in the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, we should consider how we more broadly communicate this great news.
